All Laced up in SS12 Dolce&Gabbana

My second instalment of Yuri’s Corner is all about lace. Lace is a fundamental fabric for Dolce&Gabbana- it encapsulates many of the elements dear to the brand: Sicilian heritage, religious undertones, craftsmanship and sensuality.

Lace is not only a fabric, unusually for SS12, Dolce&Gabbana transformed lace into a print. Choose a typical baby doll style with lace detailing. The baby doll on its own is a little too romantic, so grunge it up with a leather jacket. This one with asymmetric fastening and bejewelled buttons is perfect. Take the lace idea through to the accessories with these lace peep toe pumps with lipstick charm and a lace overlay Rosa bag. In Spring I usually like to wear colours, but with this novel lace print-I feel girlie enough. Just add a hat for a playful finish to the look. Just perfect for tea with friends while basking in the afternoon sun.

Here I’m playing  with the lace print but in a more boyish (sort of) way. To my lingerie inspired lace print top I added boyfriend fit chinos and a cropped distressed denim jacket. It’s a bit of a play between masculine and feminine.

When dresses in muted colours and with a masculine silhouette, add to the contrast with some pastel colours on your nails. Choose on of the fabulous colours from the Dolce&Gabbaan Bouquet Collection. Perfect for SS12!

You can laso mix lace with lace print you know? Do it by matching this lace print bodysuitwith a lace skirt (underskirt is optional). It may look a little dreary for a Spring look, so just inject some colour with a lemon yellow summer coat and some raffia clogs. Don’t forget your trusty lace accessory: a cream and black lace Miss Charles mini bag. If you want to show off your waist line a bit more just add a belt and cinch it in.

I wear this sort of lace ensemble myself. Here its topsy turvy though. I,ve got a lace bodysuit and lace print pencil skirt. I wore this for a food inteview I did lasy month. (stay tuned for more datails very soon).

With this sort of look, lace accessories are the final touch, but what ties an outfit together. To anchor the 50s vive of the runway collection- choose some restro inspired shoes in pastel coloued PVC and lace lining. Alternatively, go for a mini weaved PVC Dolce Bag. While for a more traditional Dolce&Gabbana look, the crochet raffia Miss Sicily is a must. Or these amazing tulle and purple satin booties.

Have fun!
