I am very happy to introduce you to Korean Cuisine. One of the most interesting things to find out about when in Korea is its cuisine, which is a long history in tradition and culture. It has a lot in common with the Japanese and Chinese one. In Korea, as much as in Japan, along with pickles and rice, mussels and fish are the main elements of the Korean cuisine, that also include meat, vegetables, spaghetti and tofu. The Korean cuisine is very healthy, because most of the ingredients are steamed or grilled and then used in soups. Sauces are mainly made of garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil and spicy sauce (Gochujang- 고추장) which is a paste made with spicy peppers. The other typical thing about Korea cuisine is that doesn’t consist in an appetizer, first course, main dish, it’s all presented together on the table, like many hors d’oeuvres. Only dessert is served as a separate item. The main inredient is the steamed rice – 밥 (it is what bread to Italians), accompanied by side dishes (Banchan – 반찬) and a main dish placed at the center of the table and eaten with chopsticks. The main course is generally a grilled, steamed or fried ingredient with a soup and completed sometimes by a salad (vegetables are really important in Korean cuisine), with sauces, pickles and other dressings. Here is the table set by my Mother. As I said, you have all the prepared dishes at once on the table: steamed rice, grilled meat, fresh salad and seaplant soup.Huge set of Korean dishes, prepared my Mother: this time the protagonist Is the grilled fish.

Haemul-pajeon (해물파전)One of the typical side dish is Haemul-pajeon (해물파전) is a savory pancake with plenty of green onion and seafood coated with mushy dough and beaten egg on top. Haemul-pajeon is a well-harmonized dish that is studded with soft green onions and tasty seafood.

Soe-galbijjim (소갈비찜) Soe-galbijjim (소갈비찜) is one of my favorite Korean dish. braised beef ribs with Korean radish or brown oak mushrooms, vegetables and seasonings. beef pieces cooked in soy sauce and sesame oil and ginger, basically a stew cooked in a a clay vase called tukbaege (뚝배기) that you can combine with various vegetables. This is a typical Korean dish, That is one of my Mother’s successful dishes. Here me & my lovely family! We celebrated my Dad’s birthday.

Korean BBQ Hanwoo beef (한우소고기)Korean BBQ Hanwoo beef (한우소고기): one of the yummiest among Corean Cuisine. The meat is directly cooked on a grill placed on the table. The most famous dish among this tradition is marinated beef slices that are cooked on a special coal brezier that imprints on beef the shape of Mogol knights’ combs. Taste is so delicious. melts in the mouth and pairs well with merlot based Bordeaux.

There is also another kind of BBQ. The meat is cooked on the tukbaege (뚝배기) that has a lid’s shape. This kind it’s used for greasy meats, like duck, as all the fat is released by the shape of it that leaves the meat healthy and tasty. The one you see here below are all side dishes that you eat with white rice.

Han jung sik – 한 정 식The beauty of Korean cuisine is that you can taste many dishes and it’s all very healthy. as told you before, Korea cuisine is that doesn’t consist in an appetizer, first course, main dish, it’s all presented together on the table, like many hors d’oeuvres. It is also beautiful to look at with colors and decorations. There a great harmony between them.

Traditional Korean Cuisine meets Italian Fashion : Japchae 잡채 Japchae 잡채-The dish consists of stir-fried sweet potato noodles with vegetables and a generous serving of soy sauce and sesame oil. Here is the recipe Japchae (잡채)!

Another famous dish is Bibimbap (비빔밥)Bibimbap (비빔밥) is Korean rice with mixed many different vegetables, dired seaweeds, separately cooked with different sauces and seasoned with sesame oil or spicy sauce. You may know this dish as it is presented on menu worldwide as a Korean dish. This too is Bibimbap (비빔밥) with another kind of vegetables and decorated with a sunny side up egg. What you place on the rice depends on your personal taste. Another dish is squid with vegetables seasoned with spicy sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil. It’s cooked on the tukbaege (뚝배기) that keeps it warm and tasty. You eat it with rice and side dishes.

낙지전골 낙지전골 is squid with vegetables seasoned with spicy sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil. It’s cooked on the tukbaege (뚝배기) that keeps it warm and tasty. You eat it with rice and side dishes.

Here is my favorites Korean snack.

1. the Korean Ravioli (만두 ) the Korean Ravioli (만두 ) are steamed or grilled. The soup is prepared with vegetables, meat, walnuts, eggs all together with the broth and in the end you add the rice noodles.

Here it is a typical Korean dessert, special for summer.
