My Mum and Dad come to Italy

Through this post i want to introduce to you my beautiful family. I live far away from them in Italy but they’re always in my heart. We’re far but close thanks to our love. There’s 5 of us in the family: my mum and dad, my oldest sister, me and my younger brother. Every year they come to see me in Italy, in turns, and we travel round Italy. I’m passionate about italy, its culture, food and language, and my family are also interested almost as much as I am. This year, for my mother’s 60th birthday they came to Italy. They all love to travel so much, to discover new place, see new things and one of their favourite means to do this is on a cruise. Every year, before boarding the cruise they stay a week in Italy with me. This year, my mum will celebrate her birthday on a cruise round the Greek islands. On their arrival in Milan my parents stayed with me. Two days to sleep off the jet-lag and see the city. We went to Piazza Duomo, Brera etc Once they recovered from the flight its shopping time! My parents come to Milan with a long wish list. I don’t know whether i’m lucky or not to be part of a family where fashion is important! We all compete on the way we dress, receive compliments but even criticism of course! As you can see in the pic, my parents and all family are also huge fans of Dolce&Gabbana.

As you know I Love the sea. So after 2 full days of shopping we went off to a beautiful beach place in Liguria. Its one of my favourite place in Italy, the Cinque Terre in Liguria. We went to Porto Venere. I was so excited to take my parents to such a beautiful place, one of my favourite places in Italy- surely one of the most beautiful too. If you go to Cinque Terre, go visit Porto Venere and have a meal at Locanda Lorena. Its on an island just opposite Porto Venere, called – Isola Palmaria To get there take a sort of motorized water taxi from the port.

And here we’re back in Milan at Stazione Centrale, ready to take the train to Venice.Venice is a city that gives me different emotions each time i visit. Its so unique and romantic. As my parent’s cruise set off from Venice, we welcomed the opportunity to stay there a couple of days and take in the sights. The city is so full of culture and its so special, there’s no other place on earth like Venice. It was like the first time, and we had so much fun!

They’re departure. My mum and dad were excited to set off for the Greek islands on their MSC Cruise. I was happy for them, but each time i say goodbye to them i cry like a baby, almost as though i’ll never see them again! I didn’t have much time to say goodbye as my train was leaving for Milan, so after hugs kisses and tears, i jumped into a taxi for the station. I cried so much i used tissues to try to save my make up. Once on the train i discovered the tissues had left residue on my face! LOL!! It’s always so nice to be with the family! it was really exciting to see daddy & mom in Italy as always! Those days, it seemed like a dream. bon voyage daddy & mom! have a lovely trip for Greek islands. I LOVE YOU<3 (Spot the leopard! As you can see my mum has a thing for animalier too.) lol

The longer they’re married the more in love my parents are. They’re like teenagers, at times i’m jealous of their happiness.

My dad’s birthday back in Seoul. We had a party together and my mother made one of our family’s favourite dishes: Galbi. Here’s the recip.

In Korea, we celebrate parent’s day, and not mother’s and father’s day separately. This falls on the 8th May. Although i’m far from my family, they’re always in my heart.

See you in August! And I’ll never say I LOVE YOU enough!

Here’s the recipe Galbi is Traditional Korean Cuisine.
